The first part are the articles printed in the magazine, The Fatherland. Included in this section is an article titled "This has to be Said; Do be it now Said," a riveting article that Kierkegaard published separately, but shows his thoughts and his actions towards the Danish state church.
Following this, Kierkegaard self-published The Instant. During publication, Kierkegaard also published two articles, titled "What Christ's Judgment Is about Official Christianity" and "The Unchangeableness of God."
