Jesus's Words

300+ Commands of Jesus

Compiled by Galen Currah, 2002: May be freely copied.

Compiled from The Greatest Life Ever Lived, by Cheny and Ellisen, 1999 edition by Meltebeke and Meltebeke (the four Gospels blended, adding nothing, omitting nothing.)

Many commands of Jesus are direct, grammatical imperatives; these are indicated by (D). Others are more indirect, including purpose clauses; these are indicated by (I).

Many commands of Jesus are general ones, applicable to all his followers; these are indicated by (G). Others are more specific, directed towards persons living at the time of Jesus; these are indicated by (S).

Note:

Galen Currah originally compiled this list. It has been edited so only commands found in the gospels are kept. Those in Acts, the Epistles, and Revelation are omitted.
